Today Sports Card Collecting has become increasingly complex with all the different types of sets and sub-sets of the various cards, and of course with multiple manufacturers offering cards for the same sport.  

Today Sports Card Collecting has become increasingly complex with all the different types of sets and sub-sets of the various cards, and of course with multiple manufacturers offering cards for the same sport.  

In our upcoming posts we are going to list out by sport and manufacturer some of the different types of cards they produce with a brief description that might help you at least recognize these cards when you see them.  

Let's start with Topps Baseball cards. Here are some of the current types of Topps Baseball cards available today.

Topps Series 1, Series 2, and Series Update: These are the flagship sets released by Topps each year and feature base cards, parallels, autographs, relics, and other special inserts.
